Comparison of Efficacy of Injectable V/S Oral Vitamin D (Cholecalciferol) for the Treatment of Rickets Among Children

Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness vitamin D (cholecalciferol) injections against taken orally in treatment rickets children. Methodology: One hundred patients were chosen at random from outdoor paediatrics department Madina Teaching Hospital, Faisalabad, during December 2021 June 2022 and assigned receive either oral 600,000 IU three doses on same day or intramuscular IU. Vitamin x-rays as a baseline. At 30-day mark, we checked with every one kids again. Children examined clinically, biochemically, radiographically, their results documented subsequent checkup. Pre- post-treatment increases blood levels compared across all groups. Keeping level >20ng/ml follow-up indicated successful course therapy. Results: Our research comparing injectable (Cholecalciferol) for children found that 74.29% (n=52) Group-A 88.57% (n=62) Group-B successfully treated; p value comparison was 0.02.
